Happinent, Viennese Neo-Actionism

A Happinent is a loosely planned event associated with performance art.

In simplified terms, it is a performance with token transfer, involving a random audience. The aim is to achieve empowerment, positive feelings and sustainable mental strengthening of the Happinent participants through transported goodwill.

In contrast to Viennese Actionism, which aims to offend and provoke, Viennese Neo-Actionism aims to build up and lift wings.

A Happinent consists of three parts:

(1) Pre-planned part: This takes place before the actual event date and usually involves the production of physical objects (tokens) which then change hands during the Happinents.

(2) Pre-improvised event: During this part, the interaction between the artist and the randomized participants takes place.

(3) Solitary part: The third part of a Happinents takes place without the active participation of the artist and after the event date. In this final section, the transmitted tokens (physical objects) serve as portals that allow repeated mental access to the past, empowering and joyful experience.
